Diwali week

The children have loved celebrating Diwali week. We have had popadoms as our weeks snack. We have been learning to portion control as well as scooping the chutney out of the jar and taking responsibility for washing up. We also have been creating our own hand prints with henna designs on large sheets of paper. We have been left to do this activity independently and therefore trust to wash our hands when we have finished.

The children showed their their interest in animals very early on when starting school. They decided they wanted the role play area to be a vets. They used cardboard boxes to create pens for the animals and acted as vets. They used the props to help them aid their language development.

Welcome

Welcome to Reception class’ blog.

This blog will include photographs and explanations of children’s work from Reception. It will also include helpful phonics videos and games you might want to try at home.

We encourage parents to comment on the blog as we show the children comments on a weekly basis.
